The best of the best dental practitioners understand that learning never ends— especially in a field that’s experiencing unprecedented changes. And when it comes to continuing education, clinicians like Dr. Jim Harding want far more than just the required credit hours. It is, in fact, his desire to “learn from the best and most forward-thinking dentists in the world” that brought him to July’s DentalXP Global Symposium in Las Vegas, with 4 days of lectures and workshops taught by the world’s foremost experts in their fields.
“DentalXP is a community in which dentists from all over the world come with open minds and willingness to share their knowledge,” explained Dr. Harding, who returned from the symposium with much more than just 25 CE credits. “It’s truly a unique opportunity!” he said, urging his colleagues to “get on board or be left behind” and adding, “I can’t imagine being around a better group of dentists.”
Content & Instructors
Each live seminar of “The Cutting Edge: Advanced Esthetic and Implant Solutions in Today’s Modern Digital Practice” featured presentations by 33 of the world’s leading dental experts, who shared the latest information on a variety of topics related to advancements in implant and esthetic dentistry and digital reconstructive therapy. Attendees could choose from a wide range of hands-on workshops to further enhance their education.
“The speakers always present the best surgical techniques and latest innovations with proven clinical success in a smaller conference setting,” said Dr. Raul Contreras, who attends the symposium yearly to “update, enhance, and step up my surgical knowledge and skills.” Five-time attendee Dr. Andrew Engel said the symposium “still had great content and speakers with new updates on tissue, bone, and implants.” He appreciated that “speakers are very willing to chat and share information.” Although she would recommend the event to dentists, a dental hygienist who attended would like to see “breakout sessions that are more specifically directed toward other office roles.”
“I was able to learn from the best speakers from around the world,” shared Dr. Luke Jordan. “They were engaging and kept me wanting to learn more while expanding my knowledge on new techniques.” Noting that “there are always new pearls of wisdom to learn,” Dr. Gregory Louie said, “These aren’t the usual presenters, and you have direct access to them without the egos.” Dr. Chad Merrell appreciated that “all the instructors were the most advanced in the world and presented cutting-edge technology with superior knowledge.”
Dr. Tarek Assi “was introduced to new techniques and equipment to stay up to date with cutting-edge technology,” and Dr. Juan Eguren said, “The information was great and most of the speakers were spectacular!” Dr. Andrew Loiselle praised the “awesome speakers and vendors,” and Dr. Stuart Daitch called the symposium “very informative and enlightening.” Dr. Marco Tironi said, “Some of the industry’s best products were on display and discussed by lecturers, which allows for accurate decision making when purchasing new equipment and products.” Describing the symposium’s format as “the perfect length,” Dr. Lisa Elias said, “The large number of speakers makes it unlike any other seminar.”
Clinical Application
“Every DentalXP symposium I’ve attended has given me immediately useable techniques,” said Dr. Elias. “I always learn practical skills that can be applied and taken home,” agreed Dr. Contreras. “I like the professionalism, community, and learning the best surgical techniques and latest applied theories in a smaller conference setting.” Dr. Tironi has “already changed some protocols based on what I’ve learned,” Dr. Engel said he “will incorporate pearls from lectures to augment what we’re already doing,” and Dr. Loiselle is “implementing different pieces immediately.”
Networking
“I love the DentalXP community,” said Dr. Assi, explaining that “learning new information while networking with my colleagues, seeing old friends, and meeting new ones was great.” The symposium “presents a camaraderie of friendship” for Dr. Louie, Dr. Loiselle enjoyed “creating a network of like-minded friends,” and Dr. Paul Mikhli liked learning and seeing friends in one location.
Overall Satisfaction
While some attendees suggested a different location than Las Vegas during summer, very few suggested improvements, and all evaluators said they would recommend the DentalXP Global Symposium to their colleagues. “I participate in almost all the major dental organization events, and DentalXP is always my favorite by far,” said Dr. Assi. Dr. Contreras called it “hands down, one of the best conferences,” Dr. Tironi said it offered “amazing education, great community, and world-class lectures,” and Dr. Jordan said he “can’t wait to go back.” Calling the DentalXP Global Symposium “one of the best symposiums,” Dr. Elias declared, “You would regret not attending.”
