Preparing Dental Students with Digital Technology
A digital dentistry training hub for students, faculty, and alumni at Temple University’s Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry is a reality thanks to a new partnership with Henry Schein.
The school has partnered with Henry Schein Inc., to create the Henry Schein Digital Center of Excellence, which is equipped with digital technologies such as CAD/CAM solutions, digital radiography, intraoral cameras, and practice management software solutions from Henry Schein and its partners.
Kornberg Dean Amid Ismail described the initiative as a “collaboration to advance the skills and knowledge of current and future dentists in the new and rapidly emerging era of digital dentistry.” 
Having the best teaching tools and physical infrastructure are vital to preparing future dental professionals for the rapidly changing industry. The upgraded clinics will enable students to accomplish more complex procedures with state-of-the-art technology. This technology represents a new direction, where students will have hands-on training with the latest and greatest materials and equipment.
“Our support for the creation of the new center underscores our commitment to be a reliable source of the latest digital dental equipment and technology for students and practitioners,” said Schein CEO Stanley Bergman. “It will serve the ultimate purpose of helping practitioners operate successful practices and improve patient care.”
To celebrate the official launch of the Henry Schein Digital Dentistry Program, five local patients in need of dental work got to experience the new digital approach.
Procedure time was cut in half, marking a turning point in the “digital revolution underway.” Thanks to Henry Schein, Temple University is now equipped with the latest innovations in dental equipment. Both students and faculty now have access to practice management software, digital radiography, intraoral cameras and more. The patient experience will improve with these innovative technology solutions from Schein, increasing overall comfort, convenience and cost.
