Acquisition of iTero Element® Intraoral Scanners

Digital intraoral scanning can support practice growth and profitability by giving the dental patient and the practitioner the ability to visualize Invisalign® treatment outcomes together. Analyses were undertaken to evaluate the economic impact of digital scanning on Invisalign practice receipts to determine the percent increase in gross receipts for Invisalign that were associated with the introduction of an iTero Element® intraoral scanner (i.e., the case lift). An interrupted time series analysis was applied to 72 months (36 months prior to, and 36 months following, scanner introduction) of Invisalign receipt data from 616 orthodontic practices worldwide.
