Paradise Dental Technologies: Handcrafted for Success

At Paradise Dental Technologies, everything is about the personal touch

Just like the computer giant Apple, Paradise Dental Technologies (PDT) got its start in a garage. Founder Linda Miller began with the belief that both dental hygienists and patients should benefit from instruments with the best possible manufacturing quality and design—in fact, that using such instruments should be “paradise.” Over the past 21 years, Miller’s passion for dental hygiene has driven PDT to the top of the dental hand-powered instrument industry. What started in a space for 2 cars is now a company whose products are used in 54 countries.

In line with the idea that the dental cleaning experience should be idyllic, ergonomics is a major consideration in the design of all PDT products. Handles are wide and lightweight, with textured grips that allow for versatility and reduced fatigue. Specialized sets, like the Pineyro Arch Kit for implant scaling, provide hygienists with a wide range of options for accessing hard-toreach areas. Additionally, the use of high-grade, durable materials in every instrument helps make hand-powered cleaning quick, efficient, and economical.

In 2016, the company launched a line of surgical instruments based on the same principles of ergonomics and comfort for both clinicians and patients. This new line of surgical instruments included everything from elevators and forceps to bone-grafting tools and reusable impression trays. Following in the steps of the hygienic product line, each of these surgical instruments is designed to be long lasting, atraumatic, and easily sterilized.

Inspired by dental professionals, PDT is always happy to hear from customers, and the company welcomes feedback of all kinds, including ideas, questions, or requests. With its extensive product lines for surgical, implant, restorative, perio, hygiene, endo, and diagnostic procedures, along with its made-in-the-U.S. quality, product guarantees, and prompt customer service, PDT is committed to serving both professional and patient needs to help provide the best possible dental care.

Wingrove “Go-To” Set and Pineyro Arch Kit

As much as implants can mimic the functionality of natural teeth, they have their own needs when it comes to professional hygiene. PDT, a leader in dental hygiene hand instruments, has invented 2 full kits of titanium instruments specifically for implant cleaning: the Wingrove “Go-To” Set and the Pineyro Arch Kit.

Wingrove “Go-To” Set: The Wingrove set consists of 3 titanium curettes, a ceramic sharpening stone, and a plastic perio probe, all contained in an autoclavable cassette. The lightweight, wide-handled curettes safely and effectively clean posterior implants with wide- or narrow-based crowns or anterior implants without scratching. Deemed a Dental Product Shopper Best Product in 2016, the Wingrove set was still rated a “go-to” kit by hygienists in 2020, who praised the instruments’ durability, ease of use, and ergonomics. Terrie Moncourtois, RDH, described the set as “by far the best implant instruments I’ve used in my 25 years of being a hygienist.”

Pineyro Arch Kit: Newer, but on track to be just as successful, the 4 titanium instruments that make up the Pineyro Arch Kit allowpineyro arch kit thorough access and cleaning of full fixed implant restorations without removal of the prosthesis. Curved with the shape and surface of implants—not roots—in mind, the instruments also are angled to get under implant-supported bridges and dentures. In addition, they have smooth edges to displace tissue without trauma. The Pineyro Arch Kit was bestowed a DPS Best Product award and was praised for its design and effectiveness, with one evaluator saying, “The design of these instruments is genius!” and another evaluator adding that, “I felt like I was able to give my patient a better cleaning.”

Montana Jackmontana jack

How many times a day do you use a hand scaler? The answer to that question is likely a large number. Now multiply that by weeks and months, and it’s clear that this seemingly humble instrument has to be at its very best all the time. Besides that, it must be an effective instrument, and one that performs ergonomically and is comfortable for the patient. Montana Jack sickle scalers, with their ultralight, large-diameter resin handles and thin, durable blades, are up to the task. Made of the highest-quality stainless steel, the edges require less sharpening, and the unique angle and curvature enable easy access to all areas of the mouth with minimal hand fatigue. Rigid-shank and implant-friendly versions also are available. Queen of Hearts When it’s important to reach every root surface, reach for the Queen of Hearts. This universal periodontal finishing curette has longer closed-face cutting edges to easily clean furcations and concavities, as well as a uniquely knurled resin handle for excellent tactile sensitivity and ergonomics. “It’s evident that much thought went into its design,” concluded one DPS evaluator, who also called it “an extremely effective instrument.”

And for patient care beyond the dental operatory, every Queen of Hearts purchase helps support The American Heart Association.
