The annual DentalXP Global Symposium is a celebration of community, growth, and the power of connections in the world of dentistry

Most people have a favorite restaurant when it comes to eating out. And while they love the food that is served, the appeal likely goes much further. There’s the atmosphere, for example, and the familiarity of the staff, the manager knowing your name, and the feeling that you matter to the proprietors.

For thousands of dentists, attending a DentalXP event is a similar experience. They’re welcomed like members of an extended family. Although they come to broaden their palette of skills through high-quality education, they get to enjoy the company of old and new friends—and nobody feels like they’re just another person sitting in a chair.

“It’s unlike any other meeting you’ll go to,” said Dr. Maurice Salama, cofounder and senior member of the DentalXP Scientific Committee. “We're an incredibly close community that is very global, and we welcome everyone on equal footing—nobody should feel inferior or superior to anyone else.”

Dental professionals from around the world will have a chance to experience this blend of education and camaraderie firsthand when DentalXP presents its Global Symposium April 11–13 at the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, FL. The 3-day event is themed “Decision Trees for Reconstructive, Regenerative and Esthetic Dentistry: What to Do, When, Why and How.”

The educational program will be led by more than 20 clinicians and educators at the forefront of the evolution in reconstructive, regenerative, and esthetic dentistry. From Dr. Craig Misch's opening course on horizontal and vertical bone augmentation to Dr. David Garber’s closing session on 50 years of compromise in single-tooth replacement, attendees will have access to more than 28 hours of world-class continuing education.

“The speakers always present the best surgical techniques and latest innovations with proven clinical success in a smaller conference setting,” said Dr. Raul Contreras, who attends the symposium every year to update and enhance his surgical knowledge. With each DentalXP event, he said, he has learned practical skills for application in his practice.

Although the speakers are among dentistry's most revered educators, they are there not just to educate from the podium, according to Dr. Salama.

“They come to teach, and they stay. They don’t run in and out of the meeting and disappear—they come to the social events, they answer questions, interact, and are very approachable,” he said. “I think that sets DentalXP apart from trade show and academy meetings where attendees just show up, get their CE, and walk the exhibit floor. Here, there is social interaction and it’s on a personal basis. You get to meet and speak to some of the most recognized educators and clinicians in the world.”

An Event That Caters to All

With courses and hands-on workshops covering a wide range of topics from the basic to the complex, the curriculum caters to all types of dental professionals. In fact, the whole team stands to benefit from the education.

“It’s for everyone,” said Dr. Salama. “People who are just out of school will benefit, as will people who have been around for a while and have thought about getting more training and expanding their practices to bring in more revenue. We also appeal to specialists, because many of the speakers are specialists who do exceptional work. And then you also have assistants who come with their doctors, because what better way to stimulate and motivate your staff than to bring them to a high-quality meeting that’s very inclusive?”

Food, Fun, and Entertainment

Throughout the symposium, attendees will be treated to delectable cuisine and treats, with culinary delights from around the world. And after each day of learning, they will be able to unwind and enjoy mesmerizing live performances.

Best of all, the event is held at a beach resort conveniently located near multiple airports, and in an intimate space where the party is never far from the education.

“Most people who come to our meetings come back year after year. And when they show up, they are completely engaged, they get top-notch education and great social events in a beautiful facility with wonderful surroundings," said Dr. Salama. "If you’ve never experienced a DentalXP event, this will be the one to attend. If you want to learn in a different environment at the cutting edge of dentistry, meet people from all over the world, and feel a sense of community and friendliness, this is your meeting.”
