Rethink Your Reline Materials
Tokuyama Dental’s denture reline materials provide lasting comfort and durability
According to the ADA, more than 36 million Americans are edentulous, and 120 million people are missing at least one tooth. While many patients who have experienced tooth loss are eager for a swift and esthetic transformation, clinicians are focused on the long-term goal of dentures: lasting durability and comfort.
Tokuyama Dental put restorative longevity first and foremost when designing its collection of denture reline materials. Both the Sofreliner Tough and Rebase II materials provide ideal polishability, high resistance to bacteria, and minimal odor, among other unique features that support a complete, comfortable, and secure denture fit.
Optimal Patient Relief
Sofreliner Tough offers long-lasting, consistent softness and adhesion to the denture for up to 2 years with only one chairside appointment. This self-cure, soft denture reline material is suited for relining upper, lower, partial, and full dentures, and can provide relief for irritated tissues after surgery, extractions, or implant procedures. Available in Soft (S) and Medium (M) formulations, Sofreliner Tough accommodates all soft reline cases while providing up to 40% less material waste when compared to competing brands.
Designed for long-term reline applications with complete partial acrylic dentures, Rebase II simplifies chairside denture relines with 4 minutes and 30 seconds of intraoral curing time, and easy polishing and handling. It is methyl methacrylate free, which means minimal heat generation during intraoral setting and greater patient comfort. An included Resin Hardener removes the oxygen-inhibited layer, improving surface hardness and the final polish, as well as preventing bacteria buildup.
CASE SUCCESS
Dr. Eyad Haidar shares a successful obturator case with a “gasket denture” design, which he credits to the stable consistency of Sofreliner Tough.
The patient suffered a motor vehicle accident, resulting in severe trauma to the head and face area. She lost quite a bit of facial structure and a portion of her soft palate, which resulted in difficulty speaking and swallowing. On top of all that, the patient lost most of her maxillae and ended up with only one tooth.
I fabricated an obturator for her with a “gasket denture” design. The gasket denture is a partial denture that can be used when very few teeth are left and allows the transition into a complete denture. The window around the remaining tooth was relined with Tokuyama’s Sofreliner Tough. I have used many brands for this purpose over the years, but found this reline material to work the best in terms of stability, denture retention, and toughness.
