Nearly 75% of all American adults suffer from various forms of gum disease, and they don’t even know it. If left untreated, poor oral health promotes the onset of life-threatening diseases that are responsible for the deaths of millions of Americans each year, according to the Surgeon General’s report Oral Health in America. We spoke with Margaret (Peggy) Spencer, RDH, to learn about her front-line battle with periodontal disease.
