On May 2-3, 2024, the American Association of Dental Editors and Journalists (AADEJ) held its first Dental Editors University (DEU) in over 5 years. Once held every 2 years, DEU was placed on pause due to organizational issues and then the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, the AADEJ board was determined to bring DEU back to provide further education and support for the dental community and all of the communicators and support staff involved in publications, social media, and even podcasting. The 2-day event surpassed all expectations!

This year’s DEU was held at the Daniel M. Laskin Institute in Rosemont, IL, generously provided by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS). Besides the state-of-the-art facilities, the lineup of speakers was outstanding.

All of this was made possible by the event’s generous sponsors: Dental Product Shopper, Henry Schein, American College of Dentists, and the American Dental Association, all of whom support the AADEJ’s mission to provide quality education and events for the benefit of dental communicators.

The AADEJ looks forward to the next DEU, set for 2026, and is thankful to all who helped create this year’s spectacular event!
