There are patients in every dental practice who diligently show up for recall appointments, brush and floss daily, and say "yes" to any treatment that will improve their oral conditions. Yet there are countless others who opt to decline or delay necessary dental work for myriad reasons, among them financial constraints, fear or anxiety over dental treatment, and busy schedules.

When patients are not mentally or financially ready to move forward with a restoration, one sensible solution is SilverSense SDF, a new silver diamine fluoride (SDF) treatment from Centrix that allows clinicians to deliver pain relief to patients even when they delay the recommended treatment.

Fast, Easy, Safe…and Affordable

SDF has been well-researched for its clinical efficacy and patient benefits. While it is now widely adapted for pediatric use, research shows that SDF benefits patients of all ages. Fast and easy to use, SilverSense SDF paints on the lesion in just minutes with a Benda Micro applicator, so there is no need for injections, anesthesia, or drilling. Just one drop of the 38% SDF solution treats up to 5 teeth—adding up to less than $0.80 per patient.

When used as an interim restorative procedure, SilverSense SDF can provide cost-effective pain relief and protection until the tooth can be restored.

How It Works

A powerful desensitizer, SilverSense SDF immediately eliminates hypersensitivity1,2 by occluding dentinal tubules and producing preferential fluorohydroxyapatite, which increases mineral density and hardness.3 The fluoride inhibits new biofilm formation, while silver helps destroy plaque film. Softened dentin is hardened and conditioned thanks to SilverSense SDF, which fosters remineralization, inhibits calcium dissolution from hydroxyapatite, and prevents the demineralization of enamel and dentin.4

The result? Dentin treated with SilverSense SDF will be twice as hard as healthy dentin.5

SilverSense SDF will darken only the lesion where it is placed. Tempit, Centrix’s moisture-activated temporary filling material, can be applied to mask any discoloration until the tooth is ready to be restored.
