As dental practices continue to evolve and adapt to meet the diverse needs of their patients, one thing remains constant: each product used during patient care must be a reliable workhorse that clinicians can depend on to help them provide exceptional dentistry.

Enter Henry Schein Products, which offers a robust selection of dental products spanning virtually every category in dentistry. From the ACCLEAN family of preventive solutions and Natural Elegance restorative materials, to CRITERION personal protective equipment and Maxima handpieces, motors, and ultrasonic cleaners, many of these products have earned coveted DPS Best Product awards over the years. Here are just a few shining examples.

Harness the Ultrasonic Power for Prevention

With a lightweight design and dual frequency technology, the ACCLEAN Ultrasonic Scaler received high praise from DPS evaluators for its easy operation when adjusting between power levels, its compact size and portability, and its overall effectiveness during calculus removal.

“The power was perfect for being so compact,” said Angela Reeds, RDH. Calling it the “best unit for those on a tight budget,” she explained how it “worked well for tough subgingival calculus” and that the cruise control mode was “most helpful for those longer appointments.”

The ultrasonic scaler works with 25K and 30K inserts and includes a quick-connect water line, precise water flow control, an autoclavable sheath, a hands-free, on-demand boost mode for particularly difficult calculus removal, and a purge mode for automatic line cleaning.

A Perfect Pair for Polishing

Optimizing polishing performance, the ACCLEAN Hygiene Handpiece 2 has excellent torque with smooth, responsive operation an ergonomic design for user comfort. “I like the ease of polishing and adaptability to disposable prophy angles,” said Corey Skriver, RDH.

The stainless-steel handpiece is available in standard and swivel models, with the latter featuring quick disconnect for better maneuverability. “It was easy to attach and remove, which made setup and cleanup more efficient,” said Mandy Macachor, RDH, BS. In fact, DPS evaluators rated ease of cleaning and sterilizing the handpiece a perfect 5.0.

Hygienists can further elevate the polishing experience by pairing the handpiece with ACCLEAN Prophy Paste with TCP. The 1.23% fluoride prophy paste contains tricalcium phosphate, which may help enhance remineralization and prevent demineralization.* Its splatter-free formula is packaged in unit-dose cups and rinses off patients’ teeth with ease.

“It is very effective at removing surface stains without causing any gingival irritation, with coarseness that provides accurate polishing,” said Jessica Dusseault, RDH. The prophy paste comes in 4 grits across its assorted, gluten-free flavors, including mint, cherry, and bubble gum.

Restore with Natural Elegance

Beyond prevention, Henry Schein’s Natural Elegance product lineup includes several bonding agents, as well as flowable, bulk-fill, and universal composites, including a DPS Best Product: Natural Elegance Premium Universal Composite.

It's ideal for use in both the posterior and anterior and available in a syringe in 8 shades or capsules in 11 shades. While reviewing the composite for DPS, Dr. Cary Goldstein said, “Natural Elegance Premium Universal exhibits good surface luster and appears strong enough to handle posterior masticatory forces.”

It contains a unique combination of photo initiators shown to provide total shade predictability and a long-lasting, smooth surface with high shine for a premier experience. “This composite is a jack of all trades!” Goldstein emphasized. “It performs well in every category.”

Precision in Every Impression

Dr. Rodolfo Olmos experienced similar success using VP Mix HP Max Hydro. “I am very happy to finally have an impression material that performs excellently and is formulated with the patient experience in mind,” he said. “Patients really appreciate a material with a great smell and pleasant taste. The patients and I were extremely satisfied with the consistency, quality, and taste and smell of the material.”

The hydrophilic impression material captures fine details in patients’ dentition and features a low contact angle to optimize impression accuracy across a variety of viscosities and setting times. Plus, its high tear strength and elasticity maintains the integrity of impressions and minimizes deformation.

Equally suitable for consistently accurate impressions and bite registrations, Blu-Bite HP is a fluffy, mousse-like vinyl polysiloxane material with quick working and setting times that ensures a rigid, stable set with low resistance to closure. Available in 3 patient-friendly scents, it also handles and dispenses with ease.

“I am glad that I can remove the bite registration without worrying about it falling apart and having to retake the impression,” said Dr. Cynthia Leung. “We are more comfortable using Blu-Bite HP because fewer retakes mean time savings.”

* Studies suggest that supplementing fluoride with TCP enhances remineralization and produces stronger, more acid-resistant minerals than fluoride alone.
