DEVIN MCCLINTOCK, DDS

After graduating from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, Dr. McClintock completed 2 years of general practice residency at Jacobi Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. She was also one of a few dentists selected to complete a 2-year cosmetic dentistry residency with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). Now, Dr. McClintock practices as a general dentist at Precision Dentistry of Williamsburg, VA. She is a key opinion leader at BISCO, and she lectures to dentists and provides mentorship to dental students worldwide.

Several years ago, Dr. Devin McClintock embarked on a self-described "hardcore CE journey." During this time, she delved deeply into learning about proper bonding protocols and the various nuances of adhesive dentistry. While on this journey, her mentor, Dr. Adamo Notarantonio, introduced her to a duo of simple yet powerful restorative solutions: All-Bond Universal and Z-Prime Plus. Here, Dr. McClintock shares how pairing these BISCO materials with reliable bonding protocols has completely transformed the way she practices.

I believe that the best dentistry is the kind that patients don’t comment on. Let's face it, patients tend to limit their feedback to frustrations— especially when they experience postop sensitivity or have a crown debond. I constantly tell my patients, “The best dentistry is no dentistry, but the next best dentistry is invisible dentistry.”

In line with this philosophy, I’ve found that since implementing BISCO’s All-Bond Universal and Z-Prime Plus into my bonding protocols, I get significantly less "feedback" from patients. I’ve performed various restorative treatments with these products, and over the years, it seems that my patients have had virtually no frustrations to report!

Single-Bottle Success

One of the biggest benefits of these 2 restorative materials is their simple single-bottle delivery systems. It is important for doctors not only to understand why they’re using a certain product but also how to use it to provide the most successful, long-term restorative outcomes. Single-bottle systems allow practitioners to deliver the highest quality restorations while maintaining workflow simplicity and consistency.

For that, I especially appreciate All-Bond Universal. I continue to see consistent results for direct and indirect restorations, and to me, it’s one of the best universal adhesives. It is compatible with all composite and cement materials in all curing modes, and with any etching technique—without the need for an additional activator.

All Set for Success

When it comes to bonding indirect restorations, I always apply Z-Prime Plus. It is an MDP-containing primer that offers great versatility, durability, and convenience across various substrates. By adding this primer to your bonding protocols, you can increase the chemical retention and bond strength to resin cement. The more you increase the cement retention both mechanically and chemically, the more you increase bond strength, too.

Whenever I see patients for hygiene checks after they've had recent restorative work, I'm always happy to hear how well they're doing. I like to set my patients up for long-term success, and using the right products with the right protocols is how I do just that.
