CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick and CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal
Simplifying restorations while reducing clinicians’ chair time and inventory costs, 2 restorative materials from Kuraray deliver versatility and efficiency with unique, universal formulations
In a world where information flows effortlessly at our fingertips, one might assume that clinicians’ pursuit of the best products for their offices and patients would be a streamlined process. Yet, working in a field focused on the intricacies of the human mouth, it also seems fitting that clinicians would often discover their most effective, efficient dental products through word-of-mouth recommendations from industry peers.
“We originally chose Kuraray products at the suggestion of our dental supplier and have continued to use them due to their affordability, durability, versatility, ease of use, and their great esthetics, which makes for happy patients,” said Dr. Donald Jetter, who practices alongside his wife, Dr. Cynthia Jetter, in Voorhees, NJ. The pair of practicing dentists has now found the same reliability and value in Kuraray Noritake’s CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick, which is a light-cure bonding agent, and CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal composite.
“We use CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick with all our direct restorations with the CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal composite,” Dr. Cynthia Jetter said. “CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick’s 1-bottle formula makes it a very easy, quick, and versatile option to use, and while we had used other shades of CLEARFIL MAJESTY prior to the launch of the universal shade, we started using the newly available shade immediately.”
CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick
Thanks to the unique MDP and AMIDE-based chemistry that powers its RAPID BOND TECHNOLOGY, CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick directly bonds to dentin, enamel, metals, zirconia, and lithium disilicate restorative materials with ease. It can adhere to any of these materials without additional primers, and can be used for total-, self-, and selective-etch techniques.
Drs. Jetter use the total-etch technique with CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick, as the adhesive works on both wet and dry dentin when total-etching. It also does not require waiting time in the total-etch and selective-etch modes. “We have not had any problems with the bond strength of this product,” Dr. Donald Jetter said. “It works as well as or better than other universal adhesives we have used previously.”
No additional primer or activator is needed when using CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick with CLEARFIL DC Core Plus or PANAVIA SA Cement Universal. CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick can also be mixed with CLEARFIL DC Activator to become a dual-cure adhesive, which can be used with any self- or dual-cured resin cement or core material.
CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal
Since CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal is so translucent, an opaquer or blocker resin is not required. Kuraray’s Light Diffusion Technology makes the restorations with this material diffuse light in a similar way that tooth structure does. “It blends very well with the adjacent tooth structure, making it the go-to shade in our office,” Dr. Donald Jetter said.
“I like CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal better than other universal composites for its handling and durability,” Dr. Cynthia Jetter said. Especially when being used for common posterior restorations, CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal delivers excellent esthetics.
“Using the universal shade saves chair time. By eliminating the need to take a shade match and by being able to set it out in advance of seating the patient, we save about 3-5 minutes per procedure,” Dr. Donald Jetter said. “Using the universal shade also saves on inventory costs by eliminating product expiration of infrequently used shades as well as limiting the overall amount of product needed on hand.”
