Introducing…DEXassist Solution
The DEXassist Solution features an intraoral X-ray pathology detection feature that uses an AI algorithm to enhance the level of detail for each patient diagnosis and potentially increase clinicians’ diagnostic accuracy. Especially on busy workdays, a frequent concern for many dentists is that they may not be able to devote enough time to thoroughly review images during patient appointments, resulting in the possibility that potential issues might be overlooked. By alerting clinicians to possible pathologies that might require more attention, and offering additional, highly detailed images, DEXassist Solution can enhance patient communication and significantly increase patients’ confidence in their diagnosis.
Current users of DEXIS Imaging Suite software can begin using DEXassist Solution by making a simple upgrade to the newly released DEXIS Version 10.4. The DEXassist solution integrates AI features from DTX Studio Clinic into the DEXIS 10 Imaging Suite Software. The software can also be purchased separately.

’See’ the Power of AI
DEXassist Solution uses a set of AI algorithms integrated from DTX Studio Clinic to detect and support diagnoses in 6 areas of dental pathologies identified in 2D intraoral X-rays—caries, calculus, margin discrepancy, root canal filling deficiency, bone loss, and periapical radiolucency—that could be potential areas of concern for dentists and could impact a patient’s treatment plan. The AI solutions provided with DEXassist can help clinicians and staff save time and optimize patient care.
Each of the 6 findings present with a different color and a box that highlights the issue. After acquiring X-rays directly in the DEXIS software, clinicians use a simple click of a button to leverage the AI-enabled 2D findings, using user-friendly tabs to look further at the areas of concern identified. DEXassist Solution offers an easy-to-understand format that clinicians can use to share findings with their patients and discuss their diagnosis and treatment plan. If clinicians believe the issue can be set aside for the future, they can choose to either hide the AI findings or explain to patients that they will continue to watch and revisit them at a later appointment.
