Why I Use… ANEW

According to the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the independent data of Millennium Research, implant dentistry isn’t quite where it needs to be in satisfying the needs of the overall patient population. In fact, only 10% of patients who go to the dentist and could benefit from an implant actually proceed with treatment. That leaves a lot of business on the table. Here, Dr. Adam Koppelman shares why adopting narrow-diameter implants in his practice has allowed the team to turn impossibilities into realities for patients.
Narrow-diameter implants are an asset to any implant armamentarium. Patients should not be condemned to life with a removable appliance. Many patients think implants are too expensive. But because the procedures surrounding narrow-diameter implants are fewer—without bone augmentation, fewer appointments are needed—the cost is almost always significantly less for the patient while still preserving the fee for time and overhead. In our practice, our fee schedule is per procedure for implant placement, regardless of whether it is narrow or standard diameter.

Offers More With Less
Dentatus ANEW is conducive to 1-stage, flapless surgery, because it requires one coring procedure. This product, which can be placed in interdental spaces as narrow as 3.5 mm, allows me to place implants in narrow ridges without doing extensive ridge augmentation surgeries, orthodontic treatment, etc.

Innovative Design
ANEW implants are better than other narrow-diameter implants that I’ve tried because they are the first that allow for a screw-retained implant crown. ANEW’s novel and innovative design allows for more ideal prosthetic outcomes because it reduces stress on the implant and provides for easy maintenance of provisional and long-term restorations.

Long-Term Success
When deciding on an implant, I look for long-term studies that show that the implant has not only been around, but has clinical and empirical evidence showing long-term results. I purchased this product after trying it out on multiple patients and finding excellent surgical and prosthetic outcomes.

Increased Case Acceptance
Perhaps the biggest bonus of all is being able to provide a greater number of patients with the same elevated, predictable level of care that was once denied them. I've been very happy thus far with this product. Not only have we seen an increase in our implant case acceptance, those patients are so satisfied and grateful for the second chance they’ve been offered that our word-of-mouth referrals are just an incredible resource.

Changing the Conversation
ANEW narrow-diameter implants have allowed us as practitioners to offer implant treatment to many more patients. It’s time to consider new ways of having an old discussion and reframe the conversation about implants with patients who previously declined treatment.
