Fast, Powerful Cleaning in a Quiet, Compact Unit

Dental offices depend on a handful of key products and technologies to keep things running safely and smoothly every day. But when these solutions aren’t up to par, they can hinder productivity and cause distractions that interferfe with every practice’s top priority: caring for patients. We followed up with 2 hygienists who felt the unit would make a great addition to their practices and asked them to share their thoughts.
Quiet Operation
After evaluating the Maxima PowerClean 210, Lydia Pope, a New Lenox, IL-based hygienist with 30 years of experience, quickly decided to purchase the cleaner for her office. “My employer loved it and asked, ‘Can we buy this?’” she reported. Working in a small office with an equally modest sterilization area, the noise level generated by her old ultrasonic unit was a persistent problem. “We would turn on [our previous cleaner] after we left the room because it was so loud. And you could still hear it throughout the office.” But, according to Pope, the PowerClean 210 was quiet enough that she could have a conversation in the area while it was running. “That’s what really sold us,” she added.
Easy, Efficient Cleaning
In addition to quiet operation, Pope found that the Maxima PowerClean 210 delivered when it came to reliable, effective cleaning. Unlike her old unit which had an ambiguous analog dial and would run anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes per cycle,
Pope appreciated the PowerClean 210’s easy-to-use digital timer. “It feels like we have more control over the cleaning,” she said. Pope also spoke highly of the PowerClean 210’s “spacious” capacity, as the 2.1-gallon tank holds 2 large instrument cassettes or 4 smaller cassettes at a time.
April Curtis of Colorado Springs, CO, who has 22 years’ experience in dental hygiene, was similarly impressed with the PowerClean 210’s speedy cleaning times. Her office plans to eventually replace their current ultrasonic unit with the PowerClean 210, reporting, “With this unit, it only took 5 minutes for everything to come out clean and ready for sterilization.” Like Pope, she enjoyed that the cleaner offered ample space for instruments, explaining that though she works in a small office, “it’s nice to have enough room when we get busy.”
Built for Convenience
Designed to keep maintenance to a minimum, the PowerClean 210 features automatic and manual degas functions, as well as a convenient side drainage system. As Pope shared, “Our previous unit would create condensation that dripped everywhere when we opened the lid.” But with the PowerClean 210, she’s happy to report that they haven’t had this problem, or any others for that matter: “There isn’t any condensation and I like that the lid has its own holder,” Pope explained. “The unit degases first in the morning and drains sufficiently at the end of the day—there’s really no maintenance.” Curtis echoed this, confirming that the PowerClean 210 was “definitely easy to use” and drained quickly and easily.

Though she’s the sole hygienist in a single-doctor practice, Curtis said that thanks to the PowerClean 210’s performance and instrument capacity, “I could see it being very useful for a larger office. It’s so fast and effective.”
