A novel tool in the fight against early caries, Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus is a non-invasive treatment for early, non-cavitated lesions that's pain-free and quick and easy to apply

What if you could better serve your patients with a product that treats early caries in less than 10 minutes? What if that product also could boost production and promote oral and overall health? If it seems too good to be true, it’s not.

“To me, ‘drill, fill, and bill’ is an antiquated approach to dentistry,” said Dr. Adam Silevitch, a board-certified pediatric dentist who treats children and young adults at Pediatric Dentists NYC. “When I saw the research papers on the effectiveness of Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus (CRFP), a light bulb went off and I called the company immediately.”

CRFP enables effective therapy of early, non-cavitated carious lesions through Guided Enamel Remineralization. With a targeted application, the patented formulation diffuses into the carious lesion within 3 to 5 minutes to start the remineralization process. Suitable for all surfaces and patients, CRFP challenges the “watch and wait” treatment approach.

“You’re basically just sitting and waiting until you can do those fillings, and to me, that’s not treatment," Dr. Silevitch explained. “CRFP is the answer to that. If you can treat before there are lesions that need fillings, then it's a home run for everybody.

After confirming clinical caries on an x-ray or using a cavity sensing toothpick, Dr. Silevitch applies CRFP to the affected enamel surfaces.

“I'm getting an 80% success rate on first application,” he shared. “I test the area after 3 months, and if bacteria are not active, then it’s a stop lesion. To me, that’s success. You should be trying this because either you're treating too early on lesions that shouldn't be cut into, or you're waiting and watching and just praying to the dental gods. Now, we can actually do real treatment at the earliest stages of a cavity. It's a eureka moment.”

While Dr. Silevitch’s practice is fee-for-service, dentists can bill insurance for CRFP application.

“If you have something in your toolbox that can treat early-stage caries before a cavity occurs, then everybody wins,” Dr. Silevitch added. “The dentist wins because they're doing what's right for the patient and they make some money, and the patient wins because they're preserving tooth structure and chair time. The insurance companies win, too, because they don't have to reimburse as much for treatment. My hope is that over time, this will become standard of care for every dentist on the planet.”
